It’s the time of year when Halloween contacts are once again in demand. Even if you don’t have any invitations for parties yet, you are most likely among those who already intend to shop for contacts. Fortunately, there are now hundreds of lens types and designs to choose from. In fact, there are so many choices that they can make decision making a chore. Here are top five ideas you might want to consider:
Generic Characters
Halloween is often associated with traditionally scary characters. The mere mention of some of these characters can already send shivers down your spine. If you want to strike fear this Halloween, you can always go down the tried and tested path. Consider buying lenses labeled as vampire, zombie, werewolf, banshee or ghost. The advantage to choosing lenses for generic Halloween characters is that they may be cheaper than other lens types. They are often affordable because these designs have been around for ages and many people have been buying them every year.
Animal Eyes
You don’t have to be a monster or a scary character. You can always find inspiration for costumes and from the members of the animal kingdom. Although many animals are not scary at all, their eyes may look different from human eyes. Seeing someone wear animal eyes can create a striking and lasting impression. Commonly used eyes are those of cats. If you want to be more unique though, you can look for lenses that mimic the eyes of wolves, lizards, frogs and owls.
Movie or Cartoon Characters
Another popular option these days is to wear contacts mimicking the eyes of famous fictional characters. These characters aren’t necessarily from horror movies. Some of them are from science fiction movies, cartoons or TV shows. Lens prices would typically depend on the character you are portraying. Lenses for recently popular or perpetually popular characters will naturally cost a lot. You can however, choose lesser known personalities.
Non Specific Lenses
Planning for a Halloween costume doesn’t mean you have to be anyone. You can always wear a non specific costume and Halloween contacts. Lenses for example that are solid yellow, red or black can already be striking enough on their own. You can also wear differently colored or designed lenses for each eye or you can go for glow in the dark contacts.
Lenses that Aren’t Scary
Frightful entities do not have a monopoly over Halloween. Some people may choose not to appear as scary figures. Some appear as mythical characters, fairytale royalty, famous sports personalities, storybook characters or historic personalities. For some of these characters, you don’t have to wear lenses at all but you can choose to modify your character portrayal by wearing lenses that bear logos, prints or designs commonly associated with your character.
Halloween contacts are really enjoyable items to shop for. If you don’t want to be burdened by too many options though, you should know ahead of time just who or what it is that you want to be.
