If you really want to have a scary Halloween costume that will even frighten adults then add a pair of red contact lenses to your outfit. Red contacts will make any costume look more gruesome, you could dress up as a devil, zombie or even a tomato!
I started wearing coloured contact lenses at Halloween five years ago and absolutely love them! It really makes you stand out, they say the eyes are the windows to your soul, well, with red contacts in people will think you are taking their soul!
I love it when someone doesn’t realise that you have contacts in until they are up close to you it is so funny to see their reaction.
Don’t be afraid of putting them in your eyes it is actually very easy to do and once in, your eyes will nip for only a couple of seconds and then you won’t feel them in at all. The red will completely cover the natural colour of your eye giving a natural (or should I say supernatural) look.
Some cheap costume ideas:
•The simplest and cheapest way to wear these is to just put on your regular clothes but add the red contacts. This is actually quite effective as people assume that you have not made the effort to dress up at all and then get a fright when they come closer to you.
•Devil, you can get a really cheap set with a devil tail and a headband with horns and buy some red costume make up for your face. You can get some red glitter and glam/camp up your look a bit.
•Zombie, this is very effective and easy to do. (This also works with any other spooky contact lenses) All you have to do is get an old pair of jeans and a t-shirt, the lighter coloured the clothing is then the better it will look. Just put some rips in your clothes and add some fake blood to the rips. Put some white face paint on completely covering the face then add some black under the eyes and on the cheekbones then add some fake blood. I like to put fake blood dripping out of all the rips in my clothes and I find the most effective look particularly with red contacts is to have fake blood coming from your eyes like blood tears, just be careful to not put the blood in your eyes, just rolling down them. This is my favorite cheap Halloween costume and looks really creepy with the red lenses in.
Happy Halloween.
